Belladrum 2024: Campervan/Caravan Travel Updates

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2024.

To ensure we do not see a repeat of last year’s traffic issues, we have made some major changes to our traffic management plans. So, even if you are a seasoned Bella-goer, please make sure you have read our full traffic arrival information thoroughly, studied the maps below and planned your route to Bella in advance to make your arrival at the festival as seamless as possible.

This information is for Thursday-Saturday Campever/Campervans only.

Belladrum takes place in the beautiful, rural Highlands, which comes with its own challenges. As many of you will know, not every road is suitable for high levels of traffic. Therefore, we ask you to follow our suggested travel routes to avoid unnecessary congestion, prevent vehicles from getting stuck, and blocking key routes for residents. Please respect our local communities!

ENTRY

Festival Address: Belladrum Estate, Inverness-Shire, IV4 7BA

what3words: ///drain.gathering.glow

Key times:

●      Gates open: Thursday 25th July, 0800

●      Arena opens: 1200 (subject to change)

●      Entertainment begins: 1600 (subject to change)

●      Last vehicle entry: 2100

Upon arrival you will be directed by our traffic management and sited depending on your vehicle type and the package you have purchased. To help the process, please print your booking confirmation and display it in your window in advance. Once you have been sited, our staff will scan your campervan field purchase ticket and confirm your booking. Please have your Gigantic e-ticket downloaded and available for scanning before you arrive on site, just in case signal, or your phone battery, is low.

Try and avoid travelling at peak times (0800 - 1300). Prepare yourself for natural delays; bring extra snacks, water and your phone charger for the journey to keep you going!

Please follow the organised routes highlighted below, do not rely on google or apple maps.

TRAVEL ROUTES

Belladrum Festival is located 11 miles west of Inverness. Crowds attending the festival will primarily use the two routes shown. The blue route heading west from Inverness, the red route heading southwest from Inverness.

The main routes towards the festival will be west via the A862 and A833. The route follows the A862 through from the west of Inverness city centre. Routing through; Bunchrew, Rhinduie, Drumchardine, then will follow the A883 towards the Belladrum event site. Belladrum Lodge is the Main Entrance for the festival. Vehicles including camping, day tickets and campervans will enter through this entrance.

The secondary route is directed via the southwest of Inverness along the A82. The route runs adjacent to Loch Ness through Lochend and Drumnadrochit. Then the route would take you on to the A831, then head north via the A833.

EXIT

For your ease of exiting the event, all traffic from the Caravan/Campervan field will be directed to left turn only onto the A833. This route takes you via Drumnadrochit, to join the A82 towards Inverness / Aberdeen and will direct you away from main festival parking traffic congestion.

Please do not attempt to take any other shortcuts or you will impact our local residents and run into further delays.

YOUR PITCH

Make sure your whole set-up fits on the pitch you have booked BEFORE you arrive.

●      Standard Pitch Sizes are 7m x 4.5m

●      Jumbo Pitch Sizes are 10m x 7m

Each pitch will have mown boundaries to show you the size of space you have. Anyone overspilling their pitch will be required to remove cars/awnings/tents accordingly to ensure you are within your allotted footprint.

Make sure you keep your fire gap surrounding your pitch (3m clearance) - All fire breaks between you and your neighbours must be kept clear. We will have enforcement staff from the festival removing any infrastructure that has over spilt into fire lanes.

WRISTBANDS
You will be able to collect your weekend wristbands from the gate within the campervan field from 0800 on Thursday. We recommend you exchange your event tickets for wristbands as soon as possible. Leaving it until just before an act you want to see may result in disappointment due to box office queues.

CARAVAN/CAMPERVAN FIELD RULES

Car Parking

Only towing vehicles have access to the campervan site. There is no car park at the Caravan/Campervan Field. If you have additional vehicles joining you, they will need to purchase a car parking pass and park in our public car park.

Car parking passes can be purchased here.

The last date for online car parking pass orders is the 19th of July. Then, you can either buy a white car park pass from Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, in person, or purchase a pass on the day at an increased cost of £25 (subject to availability).

Leaving and re-entering the field during the event

Once you are pitched all vehicles need to remain in place for the duration of the event with the exception of cars that have towed a caravan in. You may leave again in your car, however, your car will not be allowed back into the caravan/campervan field until Sunday to collect your caravan. It will have to be parked in the white car park where you will need to purchase an additional car parking ticket. You will then need to make your way on foot to the campervan field when the arena is open.

Visitors

People from other campsites are able to visit you during arena opening hours (the arena closes between 0100 and 0900).

Please note: Outside of arena hours, there is no public access between the caravan/campervan field and campsites. The event site does not have public footpaths outside of the arena, therefore the campervan field cannot be accessed on foot out of arena opening hours.

No tents allowed
Tents are not permitted for sleeping in within the caravan/campervan field for H&S reasons. You are permitted to erect an awning extension as a social space only, they must not be slept in.

Water and Waste.

You can replenish water supplies from taps in your camping area.
Tanks are provided for waste emptying. Please do not empty into the burn.

Generators

No generators allowed on site at all. If you need power you must purchase an electric hook-up ticket.

Gas

Be careful when you’re cooking with gas. Gas cookers inside campervans and caravans should be safety tested and gas cylinders kept outside the van, which should contain a fully charged water or dry powder fire extinguisher.
