Why Belladrum Should Be On Your Radar This Summer

Every summer, thousands of people make their way to a beautiful estate in the Scottish Highlands for three days of music, food, community, and pure uncomplicated joy. They come from across Scotland, from England, from further afield, and the majority return again and again. That place is Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. And if it's not already on your summer radar, it absolutely should be.

A Festival Like No Other

Belladrum, affectionately known as Bella by our loyal community , is one of Scotland's most celebrated music festivals. Now in its 22nd year, it takes place from Thursday 30th July to Saturday 1st August at Belladrum Estate near Beauly in the Inverness-shire Highlands. With 14 stages, over 100 included family-friendly activities, class food traders, a dedicated family area, wellbeing sessions, an onsite cinema offering, spoken word, and even a karaoke tent, it is one of the most diverse festival experiences in the UK.

But what really sets Belladrum apart isn't the scale of the lineup or the breadth of the programme, really it's the atmosphere. There is something about this wee corner of the Highlands, and the community of people, that creates something you simply don't often find anywhere else day to day. It's warm. It's welcoming. It’s our wee Bella family.

The Music

Belladrum has always aimed for an eclectic lineup where there’s magic to be found all over, and not just the main headliners. This year is no exception. Thursday headline act Callum Beattie leads the charge on the main stage, with The Human League, James, Mika, Razorlight, Scouting for Girls and Rizzle Kicks among the acts bringing massive energy across the weekend. Across 14 stages, the programme spans rock, folk, indie, pop, electronic, and everything in between, with emerging Scottish talent given the same platform as established names.

Whether you're a devoted music fan who'll be front row for every headline set, or someone who loves to wander between stages and stumble upon something unexpected, Bella delivers. Some of the most treasured festival moments happen not at the main stage, but in a small tent, and Belladrum knows it. We fully encourage our attendees to step away from the mainstays and take a wander… there’s magic to be found.

More Than Just Music

One of Bella's most distinctive features is just how much there is to do beyond the music stages. The festival includes over 100 activities as standard, no extra wristbands, no hidden costs. From wellbeing like yoga in the morning to late night entertainment that keeps the energy going long after the headline acts finish, there is genuinely something for everyone at every hour of the day.

The food offering is also varied. Belladrum has long championed independent food traders and we try to support local as much as we can and the result is a market that could hold its own against any dedicated food festival. From traditional Scottish fare to international street food, there’s sweets and treats for all tastes.

A Festival for the Whole Family

Belladrum has built its reputation as one of the finest family-friendly festivals in Scotland. Our site is designed with families in mind, with dedicated spaces, age-appropriate programming, and an ethos that makes parents feel genuinely relaxed rather than just tolerated. Children grow up with Bella as part of their summer, and many of those children are now adults bringing their own families back to fields. Genuinely, take a look around when you’re with us and you’ll find babes in arms, parents, grandparents and even great-grand parents all enjoying the summer festival magic!
