5 Iconic Moments of Belladrum 2024

This summer, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary, and what a celebration it was! With a theme of LOVE running throughout the festival, 2024 truly brought a bit of magic, joy, and unforgettable moments to the Highlands. It was a hard gig, but we’ve had some time to reflect and we’ve managed to create a list of 5 of the iconic moments from this year… let’s take a look.

1. Sophie Ellis-Bextor Lighting Up the Main Stage

When Sophie Ellis-Bextor took to the Main Stage, the weather decided to add a bit of drama. Ponchos on and rain pouring down before hand, but the Bella crowd didn’t care – they came to party! Are we surprised? Not at all.

As Sophie belted out her iconic hit Murder on the Dancefloor, not even being soaked through could stop thousands of festival-goers from singing every word. It was one of those pure festival moments where the pre-rain and moody sky only added to the atmosphere, creating that electric feel good energy that our Bella family is known for.

2. Callum Beattie’s Secret Set in the Tomatin Bothy

You never know what surprises Bella has in store, and this year it was Callum Beattie’s secret acoustic set at the Tomatin Bothy.

A lucky handful of festival-goers found themselves face-to-face with one of Scotland’s currently most loved singer-songwriters in an intimate performance that felt like a dream.

Callum serenaded the audience with his heart-filled tunes, making this secret session one of those “Were you there?” moments that festival legends are made of!

Missed out? You can catch up with the secret sessions, including Callums appearance, online.

3. The Return of the Boffinarium in the Kids Area

Family fun is at the heart of Belladrum, with over 100 FREE kids activities taking place during Bella… and we were thrilled to welcome back the Boffinarium to the kids' area this year! Packed with hands-on activities, wild experiments, and creative chaos, it was a paradise for curious little minds.

Making a home in the walled garden, the STEM-focused activities were enjoyed by all ages - and there was a GIANT inflatable heart, that you could walk through, how cool is that!? Pretty iconic, if you ask us!

4. The Stand-Out Fancy Dress Competition

Belladrum’s Saturday fancy dress competition has always been a fan favourite, with costumes and entries being guided by our yearly themes.  This year, it was next level. The sheer creativity and effort from festival-goers was off the charts, with an abundance of LOVE-themed costumes that blew us away. From iconic movie couples to heart-shaped ensembles, a hand crafted dress with an ode to Robert Burns, and a Titanic boat depicting the iconic ‘ Im Flying! ‘ scene - It’s safe to say that Bella’s fancy dress tradition gets more amazing every year – and we can’t get enough! We’re already wondering what 2025 will have in store for us…

5. A Festival Full of Love and Good Vibes

While it’s not just one moment, the overall feel of Belladrum 2024 was something truly special. Many festival goers hailed this year’s Bella as the best one yet. The love, positivity, and sense of togetherness were everywhere you looked – Love really was in the air, and it’s these good vibes that keep you all coming back year after year!
